March 2nd-6th 2020

Hello and happy monday! This is looking like a the first normal week in a while (fingers crossed haha), I won't be out for any PD this week, yay! Sent home today was a new poem, sight words (liste rose) (grade 1) and books. Starting next week I will be sending home sentences to go with sight words as well as multiple books. I will also send home some word practice but this is totally optional and does not need to come back to school. I will also be sending home syllable booklets for practice that also do not need to be returned to school but we will be following the schedule in class. We are starting to talk about our 5 sense and materials in Science, and in Math we are working hard on addition and subtraction, we will be moving into geometry next week. Today we focused on stretching out words we don't know by saying one sound at a time and covering up the rest of the word. We were just using a sticky note for this and the kids seem to be grasping it. May be something to try at home when you are reading with them! Also to note, there was another case of lice at school (not in our class) so be sure to check your children as a precaution. Merci and have a great week! Janet
